First broadcasts were a success!
Space Wizards got to see the show first last Thursday, but I just finished another one up for my Facebook followers. Once I get things feeling more like clock work, I'll put out a calendar so it's easier to tune in.
Hopefully, I can make the show a bit more interactive. It'll be amazing to one day finally bring this show to in-person venues.
Not sure how I missed posting in April but it apparently got passed me.
Though, I'm trying to focus on music more, I'm being called in a few directions right now. Perhaps one day, when the dust settles I can give this my full attention. Calendar updates for Patreon have been made. The content for YouTube is also on break for the next two weeks.
Show has now been completely reworked. I didn't like the tests enough, and the latest music I've been working on has changed the style a little bit. So I had to go back and redo what I had to bring it up to par.

I'm always bouncing off on sidequests, being pulled here and there by the numerous passions I like to craft. I'm trying to make sure I put more time into performing, but the world also beckons talents I have beyond the musical.
If you've been waiting for streams, they are coming. I've decided I'm too bored with simply playing acoustic and singing on camera. Trying to make sure I really enjoy the performance, or it won't communicate properly. Additionally, I might do some “acoustic only” sets, but I don't want that to be the only thing I do.
I want to thank everyone who has been listening so far! I see you out there engaging with the music. I'm working to make this more interactive for fans who want to help shape where the music goes. Your enjoyment of my music truly does mean the world to me. I'm a one-person operation, so seeing people truly love what I put countless hours into is something truly special.

Got lost in an alternate dimension for a bit! Sorry about that! Don't worry, it's a long story; a monster involved, time travelers, it was a whole ordeal.
But I'm back!
Been testing running streams to find the best method that works, and I think I have something worked out. As I said before, they'll be sporadic, but I'm pulling clips to share with everyone.

Figured out a workaround to do some recording and release a few more simple acoustic vids. Live streams will have to wait just a bit longer.

Bad news!
My audio interface broke. This means no new recordings or streams until I replace it.
Trying to work on that now as it bit the dust yesterday.
No idea when things will be completed and up and running again. I'll announce more stuff when there's more news.

As I was getting everything ready to start some streaming, I ended up getting sick around the end of November. Still working to get back to full health so I can sing properly. I'll announce some things as soon as I can.

So far, listeners on Pandora have been the champions! As of the time of this writing, I've skyrocketed up to 254 monthly listeners. Gonna keep working to share it!
I've been rehearsing and tweaking a live stream show of the album, plus a few surprises. No current plans for “in-person” shows till I can work out all the logistics of making that happen, but I see all those dots on my Pandora map, and it's making me want to come meet all of you!
I'll announce dates for live streams just as soon as I can. As a one-man operation, I have to wear a lot of hats, but I'm getting everything done little by little.

I'm very excited to share that the debut album for this project is mastered.
It's been an amazing experience to see all of this music brought to life, and I definitely had several highly emotional moments experiencing half a decade's worth of work.
I figured out why it took so long, though. It was more than just the painful emotions keeping me from being able to complete the project. It wasn't ready to be realized.
Over those years, as I kept writing music for the album, I had to experience producing other works, which gave me the inspiration needed in so many places on this album.
It felt like, only just recently in the past several months, did the album truly reveal itself and become clear. Then every sonic choice became obvious. It seemed I had to wait to attain a prerequisite knowledge in order to complete the work, and the side-quests had finally completed.
As for the "genre." You'll hear in this album a few different styles, but they are centered around my particular compositional proclivities. I've been calling it Alternative Americana for a while, but I'm not really sure anymore. It might simply be Alt-Rock. Considering where it started, which was mostly acoustic guitar-based, the music took on a rougher edge, sometimes even quite dark.
The original concept for this project was developed around 2018 and was based on a few things I wrote in 2016. Then, around 2020, that original concept started to morph. I kept a lot of the core, but it needed more additions.
Half the story was finished, but there was a lot left unsaid. Too many emotions are still unprocessed.
Some of the music was taken from when I wrote with my former group, Shifting Tracks; that song goes back to 2010. When that group ended in 2018 and I founded my solo project, the original idea was going to be a compilation of songs that didn't fit with Shifting Track's catalog anymore. Plus, I had written a few tunes that fit together with those, so I was going to release something under my name. Well, I'm very glad I didn't.
This project truly took on a life of its own. It made me grow in ways that are hard to articulate. As though the album was a teaching tool. A magical device that pushed me in multiple disciplines to become so much greater than I was.
I cannot wait for the day to share the title with you. I've kept it secret for so many years now.

P.S. This album led me to start designing something so much bigger. But, I can't talk about that yet.
As of this morning, there are only 6 songs left to mix for the album. Once I have everything in place, I will be name-dropping the title.
I've been enjoying mixing this so much. It's truly wonderful to take the music in your head and bring it into a tangible existence. Can't wait to share it with everyone!
Mixing on the album is moving along! As it stands right now, 3 out of 20 tracks are done. Total time looks to be at least 71 minutes if I don't add hidden or bonus tracks.
I'll post towards the end of July with more information.
Have a guitar solo left for one song, plus a retracking of a guitar on another song, and then the album is ready for mixing. I was hoping to have a mastered product by now, but things just didn't turn out that way.

Life's been such a blur lately, but I am closer than ever to completing this project's debut album. At this point, there's basically just a handful of solos to track as a vast majority of the album is ready for mixing.
After all these years, I've finally reached the home stretch. I've never had a project take this long, and it certainly had multiple reasons as to why. Between the need for survival, my mental health, and just needing breaks from the project completely, it's taken me maybe 4 or 5 years (or even longer, I kind of lost track). Though, upon reflection, I'm glad it did.
During the process of creating this album, I kept feeling like something was off with it, but just didn't know entirely what. In those years, I produced tracks for others and found myself inspired by the direction I took on those projects. Getting out of my box to help establish something unique for another gave me what I needed.
I will not announce the name of the album till I hold a physical copy in my hand. I can tell you that it will have 20 songs (and maybe some bonus or hidden stuff). A few of those songs are previous material I took from when I published all my work as Shifting Tracks (which is way more of a “traditional” band than what I'm doing now), the rest are brand new.

Been a couple of months since posting. I'll try to get better at that.
Recording on the debut album for this project has pretty much come to a finish. I'll begin moving through the album and refining anything that needs it to ensure a coherent production. No release date set just yet.

Not a metric ton of updates at the moment but there's definitely some. Had some personal life stuff happen that demanded my attention but other than that I've been chugging along on this train track.
I normally get to do this from the studio but I've been a little too busy lately.
A whole bunch has been going on lately!
1st! Here recently the AC went out in the studio so I've been dealing with that for about a week or so. At the time I'm writing this we don't yet have the new one installed but hopefully that'll be taken care of by the time I'm posting this.
Work on the album has slowed just a bit this past month as I've been working to build content for a brand new Patreon I'll be launching soon. It's been a project in the making for a while now and it's good it's finally arriving. Not too mention, my amp is still currently out of service and I need that git fiddle for a few things.
I know it's been taking a while but streaming shows are coming. These past couple of weeks had some life things get in the way, and then I had a few work opportunities come about and to keep all this going, I gotta feed the monster.
Anyway, I'll be working to do those at least once a week if not more. Weekends seem to be a decent time to get those broadcasted. I do perform out in IRL semi regularly so I'll be bouncing between those depending upon the week. I plan on some free streaming acoustic shows and then maybe about once a month or so I'll do full production with all the backing tracks I've created from the album.

Only have 3 lead vocals tracks to go! I think about a handful of harmonies and then it's on to refining production for the entire 20 song project. It's been really nice to dig back into some of these songs to see how they mesh with the new material both from a sonic perspective as well as lyrically. I actually have an additional 6 songs I originally intended to create as bonus material but I've resigned to move forward with new material perhaps coming back to those some distant future from now.
From here on, I'm going to let this blog be a little more loosie-goosy. I want to be a little more personal and I'm going to attempt to open up a little more. Okay, now since I've said that! Let's talk more about the why I want to do that, and that's the music!
I've had many struggles in trying to complete this album as the music affected me greatly. I kept having to put it down, focus on something else, and try to pick it back up again at a later date. I had once created an end point already as the story line thread behind the inspiration had been mostly summed up. But along the moments of life the story changed, more was experienced and then the album needed more. More needed to be told.
What I was originally trying to say shifted as the years passed on. My art, as often is, was a reflection of an internal experience but something began to evolve. The intent behind creation evolved. Onwardly it beckons the fires of inspiration. Even now I feel a need to place just a few more songs but I've already come to a better idea.
Well, as I wind down this blog it is my hope that the music I create connects to a place in you. Sometimes I absolutely must write for myself for I will be compelled in it's creation but other times I just like to write to make you either feel or enjoy something. I'm going to keep on working towards that goal every time.
